Still Wanting: Menopause, Infidelity & the Evolving Erotic Self

Palm Beach County Convention Center, West Palm Beach, FL

I am co-hosting a powerful two-day event diving deep into menopause, infidelity, and the evolving erotic self. Whether you are a clinician looking for AASECT-approved CE hours, someone navigating these life stages personally, or simply interested in the intersections of desire, aging, betrayal, and erotic evolution, this is for you.

Space is limited and we expect to sell out, so early registration is encouraged. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are also available for brands and organizations in sexual health, wellness, and therapy.

Workshops, Groups, and Speaking

Beyond the private work I do with individuals and couples, I care deeply about bringing honest, compassionate conversation about sex, intimacy, and relationships into the wider community. So much suffering around these topics comes from silence and misinformation, and one of the most meaningful things I can do is help break that silence in a warm, welcoming setting. That is what my workshops, groups, and speaking engagements are for. I am Wendy Haggerty, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, and this page describes the kinds of events I offer and take part in, and how you can join or invite me.

You will find details for any specific upcoming events listed on the page above this content. What follows here is a broader picture of what these gatherings are like, who they are for, and how they differ from private therapy, so you know what to expect before you register or reach out.

The Kinds of Events I Offer and Take Part In

My events tend to fall into a few categories. I lead educational workshops that explore themes like desire, communication, connection, and the myths that quietly shape how we think about sex and intimacy. These are practical and grounded, designed to give you language and understanding you can carry into your own life and relationships. I also take part in community talks and presentations, sometimes on my own and sometimes alongside other professionals, where I speak to audiences about topics in sexuality and relationships in an accessible, judgment-free way.

From time to time I offer or contribute to group settings where people can learn together and feel less alone in what they are experiencing. There is a particular kind of relief that comes from being in a room, whether in person or virtual, with others who share similar questions and realizing you were never the only one. Across all of these formats, my aim is the same: to make conversation about intimacy feel normal, safe, and genuinely useful.

What to Expect at a Workshop or Talk

If you have never attended an event like this, you might wonder what you are walking into. Let me put you at ease. My workshops and talks are respectful, non-explicit, and welcoming. You will not be put on the spot, asked to share anything personal, or singled out in any way. You are always free to simply listen and take in what is useful to you. Participation is an invitation, never a requirement.

I aim to create an atmosphere where curiosity is welcome and no question is too basic or too awkward. People often tell me they arrive nervous and leave feeling lighter, having realized that the things they worried about are far more common than they thought. Whether an event is an hour-long talk or a longer interactive workshop, you can expect warmth, clear information, and a complete absence of shame or lecturing.

Who These Events Are For

My events are for anyone who wants to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. You do not need to be in crisis, and you do not need to be a client. Some attendees are simply curious. Others are navigating a specific question about desire, communication, or connection and want a low-pressure way to learn. Some come as individuals, others as couples, and some as professionals who want to deepen their understanding.

If a topic speaks to something you are working through more personally, you may find that private therapy is a better fit for that deeper work, and you are always welcome to explore my services, including couples therapy and intimacy issues. But you never have to become a client to attend an event. These gatherings stand on their own as a way to learn and connect.

Why I Believe in Bringing These Conversations Into the Open

There is a reason I put time into this work alongside my private practice. Most of us grew up with very little honest education about sex, desire, and closeness, and what we did absorb was often laced with fear, silence, or shame. That gap follows people into adulthood and into their relationships, where it quietly fuels confusion, disconnection, and the sense of being alone with a problem. Public conversation, done thoughtfully, is one of the most powerful ways I know to close that gap. When a room full of people hears something spoken plainly and kindly, the shame loosens its grip, and people leave with permission to be more curious and more compassionate with themselves.

I also find that these gatherings do something a private office cannot. They create a sense of shared humanity. Hearing that others wrestle with the same questions, and that those questions are ordinary rather than shameful, can be genuinely freeing. That is why I keep showing up to teach and speak, and why I hope you will consider joining one of these conversations, whether as a step toward deeper work or simply as a way to learn something that serves your life and relationships.

How Events Differ From Private Therapy

It is worth being clear about the difference, because it matters. A workshop, group, or talk is educational and communal. It offers information, perspective, and a shared experience, but it is not personalized treatment, and it is not confidential in the way that individual therapy is. I am not able to address your specific situation in depth in a group setting, and what is shared in a room of attendees does not carry the same private, protected quality as a therapy session.

Private therapy, by contrast, is tailored entirely to you. It is confidential within the limits of the law, it goes as deep as you need, and it unfolds at your pace over time. Many people find that an event is a comfortable first step that helps them decide whether they want the more personal work of therapy. If that is you, I would be glad to talk. You can learn what working with me is like on my client resources page, or request a free consultation whenever you feel ready.

How to Attend or Register

For any specific event, the details you need, including timing and how to register, are listed on the page above this content. If you see something that interests you, follow the registration information provided there. If you have questions about a particular event, or you want to make sure you hear about future ones, you are welcome to reach out through my contact page and I will be glad to help.

Because offerings change over time, the best way to stay informed is to check back and to get in touch if you would like me to keep you in mind. I want these gatherings to be easy to join, so if anything about attending is unclear, just ask.

Inviting Me to Speak

I welcome invitations to speak to groups and organizations. If you help lead a community group, a professional association, a wellness organization, a class, or any gathering that would benefit from a thoughtful, approachable conversation about sex, intimacy, or relationships, I would love to hear from you. I tailor what I present to your audience, whether they are members of the public, couples, or fellow professionals, and I always keep the tone respectful, inclusive, and free of judgment.

Talking openly about these subjects, in the right setting, can be genuinely healing for a community. It reduces shame, corrects harmful myths, and gives people permission to seek the help and connection they deserve. If you would like to discuss having me speak, please reach out through my contact page with a little information about your group and what you are hoping for, and we can explore whether it is a good fit.

Common Questions

Do I need to be a therapy client to attend an event?

Not at all. My events are open to anyone who is interested, whether or not you work with me privately. Many attendees are simply curious or looking for a comfortable way to learn. Attending never obligates you to become a client.

Are the workshops and talks explicit?

No. My events are non-explicit, respectful, and welcoming. I speak frankly and warmly about intimacy and relationships, but always in a professional, non-graphic way that is comfortable for a general audience.

Will I have to share personal details in a group?

No. You are never required to share anything or participate beyond what feels comfortable. You are completely free to listen and take in whatever is helpful to you. Any invitation to participate is exactly that, an invitation you can decline.

How do I find out about upcoming events?

Details for specific upcoming events are listed on the page above this content, including how to register. If you would like to be kept in mind for future gatherings, reach out through my contact page and I will be glad to help.

Can an event replace therapy?

No, and it is not meant to. Events are educational and communal, while therapy is personalized and confidential. A workshop can be a wonderful first step or a helpful supplement, but for concerns you want to address deeply and privately, individual or couples work is the better fit. You can read more on my client resources page.

How do I invite you to speak to my group or organization?

I would be glad to hear from you. Send a message through my contact page with some details about your group and what you have in mind, and we can talk about whether it is a good fit and what would serve your audience best.

A Warm Close

Whether you join a workshop, attend a talk, invite me to speak, or simply keep an eye on what is coming up, I am glad you are here and curious. Bringing these conversations into the open is some of the most hopeful work I do, and I would love for you to be part of it. When you are ready, please look at the event details above, reach out through my contact page, or explore a free consultation if you would like something more personal. I look forward to connecting with you.
